Creators and curators of the original and finest Poole Spirits. Spirits of the Smugglers Haven.

At The Poole Spirit Emporium, we honour the age-old craft of spirit-making—an art whispered through generations, shaped by folklore, and steeped in the sea-salted mists of Dorset’s haunted coast.

Guided by tradition and inspired by tales both imagined and true, each spirit is lovingly brought forth using timeworn techniques and the finest British materials. No two are ever quite the same. Individually numbered and delicately embossed, every spirit holds a presence, a personality, and a quiet echo from the past—each one a story made solid.

Their journeys begin in our hidden workshops, where they are gently housed in bespoke keepsake boxes. These vessels, inspired by Poole’s smuggling heritage and shadowed alleyways, are adorned with hand-drawn artwork and wrapped in vintage maps of the Dorset coast. Every detail is a tribute to forgotten history—a reverent offering to those who seek the unseen.

You won’t find our spirits behind glass in shops or resting on ordinary shelves. They reveal themselves here, online, released in small, irregular batches—when the moon is high, the mist is thick, and the veil is thin. Among them, you may encounter Harbour Haunts, rare spirits woven from Poole’s real ghost legends and local lore—offered only on occasion and always in limited numbers.

Professor Alden Datchery, our enigmatic curator, oversees the collection with great care, ensuring each spirit is known, named, and remembered.

To be among the first to know when the next spirit stirs, follow us on Instagram or keep your spyglass fixed upon our homepage.

May good fortune find you—

and may the spirits keep you company.

What is a Poole Spirit?

A Poole Spirit is more than a figure—it is a fragment of forgotten folklore, given form.

Born from the sea-misted tales of Dorset’s coast and the quiet whispers of the past, each spirit is carefully summoned into being by hand, using age-old techniques and eco-conscious British materials. Crafted in small, sacred batches within the walls of our hidden workshop, no two spirits are ever alike. Each bears its own shape, markings, and energy—subtle differences that hint at the tale it carries.

Their forms are cast from a master sculpture, then individually hand-finished, polished, and delicately embossed with an official mark and numbered release code. Once complete, each Poole Spirit is gently laid to rest in a keepsake box, adorned with vintage maps and original artwork inspired by the smuggling tunnels, windswept alleys, and lost harbours of old Poole.

Some spirits are solemn. Others are mischievous. A few seem to stir with secrets yet unspoken. Among them, you may discover Harbour Haunts—rare spirits drawn from Poole’s documented ghost legends and local lore, offered only on rare occasions. But whether born of imagination or history, each spirit carries a quiet authenticity and a presence uniquely its own.

Under the watchful eye of our esteemed curator, Professor Alden Datchery, each spirit is given a name, a number, and a quiet purpose: to find a home, and a soul to haunt gently.

To own a Poole Spirit is to keep a story alive.

And once they find you—they rarely let go.
